Bellevue, Wash. — June 20, 2002 — Unified Signal, developer of the telecom industrys first turnkey operating platform for resellers and virtual network operators, has executed a major contract with AT&T Global whereby Unified Signal will have access to AT&Ts global network and services at rates sharply below market. In return, Unified Signal, whose technology unifies and aggregates all telecom services and back office functions on one platform, offers AT&T a powerful way to fill unused network capacity. The contract is in two parts. One gives Unified Signal access to AT&Ts Internet dialup network, rated the best in the world, and the other gives Unified Signal access to AT&Ts entire suite of global business services, including dedicated and switched services, voice, data, long distance, VOIP, web-hosting, and gateway services.
Unified Signal has a unique technology and offers us something that doesnt exist anywhere else," said Michael Latimer, global network consultant for AT&T. Unified Signals technology creates so much efficiency in customer acquisition, that it makes great business sense to take advantage of it. By this contract we are virtually enabling Unified Signal to enable us. Their technology creates a powerful buying consortium that makes it profitable for us to offer them below-market rates. What this means for the customer is that they can access our national and global network and services through Unified Signal at rates lower than they can get anywhere else. What this means to Unified Signal is an estimated $30 million in revenue over three years."
Unified Signals technology lets any enterprise become a telecom service provider under their own brand name, without having to own infrastructure or negotiate with carriers. It also lets any existing service provider add services or enter new markets instantly by accessing Unified Signals network and service delivery platform. Unified Signals value proposition is based on the aggregation of traffic volume and the pooling of back office resources, which create tremendous economies of scale. Unified Signals platform includes a powerful billing engine and all functions necessary to acquire, activate, fulfill and manage customers through a web interface that leads customers through the entire service selection and activation process simply and easily. The web interface becomes privately-branded for every Unified Signal client, enabling them to significantly leverage a strong existing brand, yielding substantial additional returns.
The Unified Signal network is built through alliances with network owners, among whom AT&T is key. We achieved our ultimate goal through this alliance with AT&T," said Paris Holt, Unified Signal CEO. AT&Ts Internet dialup network is the best in the world and its business services, also, are unsurpassed in quality. This enables us to offer our clients tremendous value and buying power—they will now have access to the worlds best network and services at unheard of rates—their profit margins will be better than ever before possible. They will be able to decrease costs, increase profit, and reduce churn all at once using Unified Signals turnkey operating platform."
