Product Monitors and Analyzes Windows Networks

Worcester, MA (June 22, 2002) Baseband Technologies announces the release of LinkFerret version 3.03, a network monitor and analyzer application for Windows platform.

Baseband originally developed LinkFerret for analyzing the results of in-house NDIS driver conformance testing. They have redesigned LinkFerret with an eye toward performance and ease of use. LinkFerret combines new features, including a clean, consistent interface, and an in-depth help file. The company also provides top-notch technical support. LinkFerret is a simple, yet powerful tool built to fit the needs of the network administrator, protocol developer, and the security-minded individual.

The accompanying tutorial quickly starts the user capturing traffic, reading files, and analyzing data. The brief, detail, and hex windows provide a clear breakdown of the protocols contained in a frame. The statistics window includes graphs and charts that can be saved, printed, or put on the web. With a few clicks you can color frames based on the protocol or the host address.

The filtering and the alarm systems provide sophisticated tools for detailed analysis. LinkFerrets wizard quickly creates filters based on protocol, MAC address, IP address, or pattern matching within the frame itself. The alarm system monitors events and provides notification to the user via a number of configurable scripts including playing WAV files, sending email, and executing external programs.

LinkFerret protects your investment in legacy monitoring tools because it can read trace files created by other monitors. Captured files, reports, and charts can be stored in many different formats.

System requirements
LinkFerret Network Monitor will run under Windows 98/NT/Me/XP, and Windows 2000. It requires a Pentium class machine, 5 megabytes of disk space and requires 32MB of RAM.

Price and Availability
LinkFerret version 3.03 is priced at $249.00 for the full program. A 30-day trial version can be downloaded from http://www.linkferret.ws/
