Former Group Product Marketing Director at Systems Union Plc joins Anix
to increase profile in IT infrastructure market
28 June 2002 - IT infrastructure services provider, Anix Group Limited, has appointed Steve Birch as Head of Marketing.
Birch will be responsible for the development and implementation of a clearly defined marketing strategy at Anix Group as the company looks to increase its profile, build brand awareness and extend the scope of its business operations. Birch will also be focused on continuing the growth of the companys managed service and consultancy divisions, which are key to the future development of the organisation.
Anix works with blue-chip companies in the financial services, retail & distribution, manufacturing sectors, as well as local government and health. The Group has grown to achieve a turnover in excess of 30 million and is forecasting that this will increase by 15-20% during the coming year.
Commenting on his appointment at Anix, Birch says, As IBMs leading hardware infrastructure business partner, Anix is a very well established, reputable organisation, which also has a long-standing business partnership with Oracle. I believe this is an excellent time to be joining Anix and my goal is to develop a strategy for the business that will underpin its continued growth."

Prior to joining Anix Group, Birch was Group Product Marketing Director at Systems Union Plc, a vendor of international financial and supply chain management software. During six years at the company, Birch held positions as Major Account Manager - Indirect Channel and Group Channel Development Manager before progressing to Group Product Marketing Director where he was responsible for product marketing and strategic alliances worldwide.
Prior to this, Birch was Business Development Manager at Computer Design Group Plc, a manufacturer of disk and tape storage subsystems for the IBM RS/6000 and HP9000 Servers, distributed through IBM and HP VARS. Birch has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and is a Geology graduate from the University of Leeds.
