Product Captures and Stores Network Traffic
Worcester, MA (July 10, 2002) Baseband Technologies announces the release of LinkFerret-Remote Capture Agent, a probe designed to capture and store network traffic for later off-line analysis.
Baseband Technologies originally developed the LinkFerret product suite for analyzing the results of in-house NDIS driver conformance testing. The newest entry, LinkFerret-Remote, combines a clean, consistent interface with a high-powered packet capture engine, all backed by top-notch technical support. The accompanying step by step tutorials enable non-technical personnel to use the Agent effectively. LinkFerret-Remote is a simple, yet powerful tool built to fit the needs of the network administrator who is responsible for operations at multiple sites but cannot be everywhere at once.
The Remote Agent supports LinkFerret capture filters, providing a sophisticated ability to eliminate unwanted traffic and to drill down to the target of the analysis. Captured files can be stored in many different formats, allowing off-line examination by any of a variety of protocol decoding tools. Complementing its capture function, LinkFerret-Remote also has the ability to automatically email stored files to the network control center.
System requirements
LinkFerret-Remote Capture Agent will run under Windows 98/NT/Me/XP, and Windows 2000. It requires 2 megabytes of disk space, 32MB of RAM, and an ethernet adapter.
Price and Availability
LinkFerret version 1.0 will be available July 10, 2002. The price is 49.00 for the full program. A 30-day trial version can be downloaded from http://www.baseband.com/
