July 22, 2002 -- Pittsburgh -- Kinetic Workplace, the leading provider of telework, hoteling and virtual officing solutions, announced today that it has been awarded the General Services Administration (GSA) Management, Organizational and Business Improvement Services (MOBIS) contract schedule. Federal agencies can now take advantage of Kinetics e-workplace" solutions with the ease of purchasing from the MOBIS schedule.
The appointment of Kinetic Workplace as a GSA schedule contractor comes at an opportune time given the 2001 Department of Transportation Appropriations law. The law required 25 percent of all eligible federal employees to participate in the federal telework program in 2001, and increase participation 25 percent each subsequent year. The GSA schedule provides government organizations with a streamlined procurement vehicle to acquire products and services quickly, easily and below market rates from companies like Kinetic Workplace to take steps toward compliance with the law. The GSA and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) have been charged with managing the federal telework program and assuring federal agencies meet the requirements of the law.
This is a critical time for the federal government and an exciting opportunity for Kinetic Workplace," says Tim Kane, President and CEO of Kinetic Workplace. The GSA and OPM have been working diligently to promote and educate the federal agencies in the area of telework, and assist them in setting up telework policies. Now Kinetic can also support the federal agencies in this effort providing complete turnkey program development and implementation, or individual consulting services that measure, enhance and maintain their current telework initiative."
Kinetic Workplace has been at the epicenter of the Workplace revolution since 1993. Kinetic has been "changing the way people work" with expert consulting services and software solutions that have enabled organizations to rapidly establish successful, scalable "e-workplace" strategies. Its KineticLink Knowledge Base supports the companys program development and set-up process. This unique tool is the single largest body of knowledge in this emerging market, containing in-depth case studies on the experiences of nearly 300 organizations that have implemented programs.
Kinetic has developed a comprehensive and integrated approach that helps companies manage the complexities of designing, implementing and maintaining Telework, Hoteling, Virtual Officing and Alternative Officing programs from all angles, HR, IT and Real Estate. The offerings include organizational assessment, job function and task evaluation, program audit, selection and assessment tools, Teleworker and Teleworker manager web- and classroom-based training, program measurements, and employee performance tracking and reporting systems.
Kinetic Workplace has helped approximately 100 organizations develop successful programs, including Procter & Gamble, US Patent and Trade Office, US Department of Energy, Fidelity Investments, Sprint Communications, 3 Com and i2 Technologies. Our methodology and solutions have proven results across various vertical markets," says Kane. We are thrilled to have achieved this status with the GSA and eager to serve as a resource to the federal market."
