INNOVATIVE NEW APPROACH TO MICROWAVE REPAIR

Microwave Service Depot just launched it's east coast campaign announcing it's new services geared towards the restaurant industry. Utilizing the services of UPS, Microwave Service Depot picks up faulty or damaged microwave ovens, repairs them at their facility and sends them back to the restaurant.

Laurel, MD, August 15, 2002 - MICROWAVE SERVICE DEPOT (MSD), a new business located in Maryland, has developed a program that will take the service industry into the twenty-first century. Backed by a team of experts with over seventy-five years experience in the microwave repair business, MSD has devised a plan that instead of taking the tech to the microwave, it brings the microwave to the technician.

Through hands-on experience and customer feedback, the professionals at Microwave Service Depot have noted a trend in commercial microwave oven repair: The availability of properly equipped and trained microwave repair facilities has diminished. Although some may not admit it, most restaurants use microwave ovens; generally to reconstitute or re-heat food but usually not for cooking. Over the years, the microwave has come to be an integral piece of equipment for restaurants. The loss of a microwave in the kitchen greatly hinders efficiency and hence profitability. Some locations claim that it can take as long as two weeks for some repair facilities to fix their microwave(s). This situation gave birth to the idea of Microwave Service Depot. MSD employs a nationwide network to pick up and deliver the microwaves to a central repair depot. This significantly lowers repair costs by reducing travel overhead and time and allows for coverage of a greater area. Additionally, Microwave Service Depot offers a loaner" program, minimalizing productivity down time for the restaurant. Unlike many repair companies who claim to specialize in all restaurant equipment repairs, MSD works exclusively on microwave ovens. All microwaves are cleaned, inspected and undergo a variety of tests for compliance to UL/CUL, FCC and CDRH requirements for electrical and microwave safety. If a microwave unit cannot be reasonably repaired, a new commercial microwave oven can be purchased at discount pricing. Microwave Service Depot has a microwave and parts inventory of over $100,000 at all times.

Besides its headquarters in Maryland, Microwave Service Depot plans to add new locations within the US in the near future.
