RKO ANNOUNCES PACT WITH MELISSA GILBERT

RKO Pictures has entered into a deal with actress and SAG President Melissa Gilbert to star in and executive produce a remake of All Mine to Give, a film based upon an RKO library title.

Los Angeles, August 6, 2002: RKO Pictures today announced that it has entered into a deal with Melissa Gilbert to star in and executive produce a remake of All Mine to Give, a film based upon an RKO library title. Originally written by Dale and Katherine Eunson and released by RKO in 1957, All Mine to Give tells the moving story of the eldest of five siblings who, after the untimely death of his mother, must find a home for his brothers and sisters in time for Christmas day. RKO and Gilbert plan to produce for broadcast television.

Gilbert has recently starred in the TV movies Sanctuary and A Vision of Murder: The Story of Donielle for CBS and has also starred in the television series Providence for NBC and the syndicated series Babylon 5. Gilbert has most recently been in the news concerning her activities as President of the Screen Actors Guild.

RKO Chairman and CEO Ted Hartley will executive produce along with Gilbert. The project was brought into RKO by VP Production Peter Morgan, who will also oversee the project.

We are delighted to be working with Melissa on this unique project for RKO," said Hartley. She is a television icon and we are confident her involvement will help us to create a remarkable Christmas tale."

The deal was negotiated by RKO SVP Business Affairs and General Counsel, Adam W. Rosen. Gilbert is repped by the William Morris Agency and manager Marc Schwartz of Fusion Management.

RKO is the oldest continuously operated entertainment company in the world, dating back to 1882, and boasting a film and script library of over 1,100 titles. Known for developing, producing, and distributing feature film and television programs for worldwide consumption, the RKO brand with its world-renowned globe and radio tower" logo is being expanded into an array of new areas. RKO recently completed principal photography on its picture, Shade, and is scheduled to produce Age of Consent and The Set Up in the 2002 calendar year. The Company also has a number of projects under development with other studios, including Richest Girl in the World (Fox), Suspicion (Dimension), Monkeys Paw (Dreamworks) and Every Girl Should be Married (Paramount). Having recently taken steps into the music world, RKO has announced its first entry into Broadway with the production of Never Gonna Dance, a musical based on RKOs Astaire/Rogers motion picture Swing Time, besides establishing RKO/Judgment Records, a joint venture with record producer Joe Nicolo.
