The Washington DC Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication to Host a seminar on Freelance Workers: Individual & Corporate Perspectives."

The Washington DC chapter for the Society of Technical Communication will hold its first event of 2003 on Wednesday, January 15 at America Onlines Headquarters in Dulles, Va. The topic of the meeting will be perspectives on working as a freelancer and will feature noted speaker Gene Zaino, Chairman and CEO of MyBizOffice, Inc.

In this presentation, Gene highlights his perspectives on working as a freelancer. Gene will discuss the following points:

•   The contingent workforce and the corporate appeal
•   Why the time is right for an independent career, and how to make the shift
•   Marketing yourself "directly" to companies
•   How to handle legal and financial concerns
