Hitachi and ReCare Team to Deploy Wireless Tablet for Physician Centric Charting Systems at the Point Of Care
Hitachi and ReCare team up to offer healthcare solutions using ReCare's software applications accessed through Hitachi's VisionPlate Wireless Tablet. ReCare's solution creates a paperless electronic medical record for the patient, while providing the physician with specialty specific information, with the ability to cross reference pharmaceutical information and the documentation of patient specific orders. The ReCare solution will conform to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 2, 2002--The Hitachi Internet Platform Business Unit, part of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT), today announced a co-marketing agreement with ReCare, the leader in wireless physician centric charting systems based in Austin, Texas, using the Hitachi VisionPlate wireless tablet. The announcement of this agreement coincides with today's release of a Wireless Point Care Charting System for Physicians at Chicago's RSNA Conference (Radiological Society of North America).
Through this cooperative marketing agreement, both companies will promote healthcare solutions using ReCare's software applications accessed through Hitachi VisionPlate wireless tablets.
ReCare and Hitachi are developing co-marketing programs to promote the ReCare healthcare solution to doctors, healthcare facilities, multi-specialty clinics and hospitals including the introduction of ReCare's solution on Hitachi's VisionPlate at this year's RSNA conference.
Hitachi's VisionPlate, available from Hitachi's Internet Platform Business Unit at www.visionplate.com, is designed to withstand hazardous environmental conditions, while increasing mobility and convenience for remote users in a wide range of intensive production and service businesses from hospitality and healthcare applications to government and remote biometric security.
ReCare develops smart and wireless, clipboard-based applications that run on Hitachi VisionPlate wireless tablets. ReCare solutions are designed for the physician in private practice, physicians in multi-specialty practices, as well as physicians in hospitals.
The ReCare/Hitachi solutions allow for the patient encounter and treatment to take place at the point of care and thereby significantly improve the quality of care.
The ReCare/Hitachi solution has been designed by physicians for physicians, which means that the intuitive ReCare application has the built in workflow that physicians would exact and are accustomed to in a paper environment, which means there is very little training required to get up and running with the associated patient information and records at the physician's finger tips.
