Donna Hopkins Selected Atlanta's "Best Blues Act"

Hardworking blues artist Donna Hopkins was chosen "Atlanta's Best Blues Act" by Atlanta Magazine in their December Best of Atlanta issue. The article states, "Hopkins sings like Bonnie Raitt with a southern accent, and also plays a mean guitar. With a debut album in the wings, Hopkins stands to rise out of the local blues scene. Catch her there while you can."

Atlanta Magazine Executive Editor Scott Freeman has this to say, "Donna's 'Best Of' was well-deserved. [Other blues artists have] talked about her forever and she puts on some great shows."

Often appearing at Fuzzy's Place in Atlanta, Donna has a gutsy blues voice and astounds people with her guitar playing. She is without doubt the finest slide player in Atlanta and she is still discovering her potential.

Be looking for that debut album soon. Donna has recently been in the studio with the Donna Hopkins Band laying down some tracks with guest artist Yonrico Scott of the Derek Trucks Band on drums. A February, 2003, release date is expected.
