Cuban voices find home at Books and Books in Coral Gables.
Cuban, That's All! An Exile In Three Acts - Candid Voices of a Spanglish Existence will be presented live at Books and Books in Coral Gables, Florida on April 12, 2003 at 8:00 pm.
Cuban author Juan Hernandez has created a wonderful book that captures the many stories of Cuban exiles as they assimilated into American culture. For people who lived the experience, whether through the Freedom Flights, Pedro Pan, or the Mariel Boatlift, this book will bring back memories!
For someone interested in Cuba and the Cuban experience, this book provides some great insights into the Cuban exile experience. Many of the monologues presented in this book are both sad and funny at the same time. However, they all show the great hope and determination that allowed Cubans to overcome many obstacles and grow and prosper in their new homeland.
From the back cover of Cuban, That's All:
Cuba in 1965 was no longer the paradise it had once been. There was, literally, nowhere else to go but out...
