Naples, FL -- January 7, 2003 --In the early morning hours of January 1, 2001, millions of people raised a glass or two, and with heartfelt proclamations made one or more New Year's resolutions. They resolved to lose weight, start to exercise, stop smoking, relieve stress, stop getting angry, be more patient, make a difference, start a new career, finish their education, express their love to their spouse and children, and finally act on fulfilling the dreams they have been putting off for years. To say that the track record for fulfilling even one of these resolutions is poor is a cosmic understatement. Unfortunately, most of these enthusiastic resolutions will fade away with the early morning light, never to be recalled. Others, after a promising beginning of joining a club, reading the book, starting a program, repeating affirmations, etc., will slowly begin to fade when instant gratification and success fail to appear. For most, a mood of quiet desperation sets in, followed inevitably by the silent dying of the dream. However, there are a few who resolve to create a change in their lives and actually do it. What is their secret?

According to the International Coach Federation (ICF), the largest non-profit professional association worldwide of personal and business coaches, people hire a coach because they want more. They want to grow. They want it easier. It's as simple as that," and Coaches help people get all three. What has been the best-kept secret of fortune 500 companies has become the secret to success for those hard-to-keep resolutions and everyday trials and tribulations. Coaches bring an independent and unemotional perspective to the process of defining what your personal goals are -- its not about what your spouse, your partner, your family, your best friend or your boss wants. It is entirely about you and what you want to achieve in your life," says Conny Cash, a Certified Financial Planner and Life and Business Coach. In this respect, coaching provides a unique opportunity to cut through the daily multitude of should dos and must dos to see if they serve your lifes goals or detract from them." Doing so can be an enlightening experience and is the practical foundation for making the necessary changes and setting the goals necessary to support your dreams. As our lives get busier and busier, we can easily lose sight of our personal priorities with the result that opportunities are missed and time passes without achieving important objectives.

What steps can one take to ensure their New Years resolutions can be achieved? Where can someone go for help if their goals cannot be reached on their own? Conny Cash is available her F.O.C.U.S. technique and for media interviews. She can be reached at 239-597-0107. Her Life and Business Coaching Company, Balancing Act, is located in Naples.
