Xabler Announces Digital Music Server (DMS)
Music server provides distributed audio, internet access and wireless control of playlists.
Provo, December 15, 2002: Xabler of Provo, Utah announced the release of its Digital Music Server (DMS) at CEDIA 2002 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, September 27th. The Xabler DMS has the ability of storing hundreds of hours of music on its internal 80 GB hard drive. The system is a Linux-based operating system, which was chosen for stability, reliability, and speed. The DMS is controlled like any other device on the Xabler network through a custom-made Internet browser interface.
The Xabler DMS is based on technologies already familiar to most users. It can be added to an existing distributed audio system or controlled through a standard web browser. The system uses a very intuitive player similar in functionality to other popular players such as WinAMP, Windows Media Player, or Music Match. If a user has the ability to use a web browser, they can use the Xabler DMS interface.
The Xabler DMS may also be controlled from a variety of automation systems and devices. Standard ASCII codes may be passed through to the server to control playback features from wall-mounted keypads or other third-party systems.
Playlists are easily changed or arranged using a standard web browser. Xabler DMS provides the ability to easily organize songs to create custom playlists.
All of this functionality is accomplished through a single interface. For more information on the Xabler Digital Music Server (DMS), please contact Xabler toll-free at (888) 388-0503, email us at info@xabler.com or visit us online at www.xabler.com.
