Couple Minutes Speed-Dating Opens in Grand Rapids, MI

Grand Rapids, MI January 7, 2002 ¡V Paunchy Petes Bar & Restaurant in Grand Rapids will be hosting the first Couple Minutes„· Speed-Dating Event on February 3, 2003 at 6:30 p.m.

The speed-dating event will unite Grand Rapids singles seeking to meet their match. Throughout the evening, single men and women will have the opportunity to meet up to 25 members of the opposite sex through a series of timed, three-minute ¡§dates¡¨.

Founded in January, 2002, Couple Minutes„·ƒnSpeed-Dating Events give singles the opportunity to meet in a pressure-free, fun environment. Busy professionals do not always have time to frequent the bar scene, so speed-dating is the perfect opportunity to meet a lot of singles in a short amount of time. After each three minute ¡§date,¡¨ guests rate their date on scorecards before moving on. When there is a match among two people, they are notified via email within 24 hours, and the rest is up to them!

Speed-dating is becoming increasingly popular over the past couple of years. The October 15th Oprah show featured speed-dating in Chicago. Other cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Milwaukee have speed-dating events, as well.

Couple Minutes originated in Indianapolis, IN, and was launched by a West Michigan native now residing in Indianapolis.
