3rd ANNUAL HORIZON AWARDS ANNOUNCES 2002 AWARD
CATEGORIES AND NOMINEES

ATLANTA (January 9, 2003)-The 3rd Annual Horizon Awards for sports business, created and managed by the Atlanta Sports Council, announced today its categories and nominees for the 2003 award ceremony to recognize the thought leaders and innovators in sports business. The 3rd Annual Horizon Awards will take place Thursday, February 6, 2003, from 5:30-10:00 pm at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel.

Eight prestigious categories have been developed by the Horizon Awards executive committee to distinguish this years leaders in the sports industry. The executive committee will use its newly created national Horizon Awards Voting Academy to determine the winners. The academy consists of 250+ high-level national executives representing several segments from the sports industry.

The 2002 categories and nominees include:

SPORTS TECHNOLOGY OF THE YEAR-The company whose sports technology product, service or device had the greatest impact on the sports industry in 2002.

SPORTS BUSINESS IMPACT PARTNERSHIP OF THE YEAR-The sports partnership that emerged in 2002 that will have the greatest impact on the sports business industry.
·   NASCAR and iN DEMAND -- Television Partnership
·   NCAA, CBS and The Coca-Cola Company -- Marketing and Media Partnership
·   National Basketball Associations (NBA) Television Partnership with, ABC, ESPN, TNT, DIRECTV
