Fire Line Video Productions Wins 2002 Communicator Award of Distinction

(New York, NY - January 10, 2003) -- The documentary, "FDNY 'The Battle Continues' WTC 09-11-01". has been recognized by the Communicator Awards in the category of Videos for Sale/Informational. For the program production company, Fire Line Video, it is the second significant honor awarded for the team's compelling on scene coverage of the WTC disaster.

The Communicator Awards is an international awards competition, that recognizes outstanding work in the communications field. Entries are judged by industry professionals, who look for companies and individuals, whose talent exceed a high standard of excellence, and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.

Fire Line Video specializes in programming dealing with the emergency services, specifically fire and rescue in the New York City area. The company is best known for its ability to respond to major emergencies quickly, and cover the action like no other broadcast crew.

We are excited that our video was among the distinguished winners of the 2002 Awards, says Joe Scurto, producer and videographer for "FDNY 'The Battle Continues", a series of programs dealing with firefighters and firefighting in the nation's largest city.

This is the second time our video WTC 09-11-01 has been recognized by our industry", says Scurto.

"FDNY 'The Battle Continues' WTC 09-11-01" is dedicated to the thousands who lost their lives on 09-11-01, especially to the 343 New York City firefighters, many of whom Scurto knew personally.

"They were killed trying to save others.' Scurto adds, 'and I just wanted to provide the public with a better understanding of the conditions that firefighters faced immediately following the attacks." Scurto and his team remained on scene to record compelling images of the tragic collapses, and the early stages of rescue and recovery operations,

Winners of The Communicator Awards come from video production companies, independent producers, directors, writers, videographers, editors and other production professionals, corporate communication departments, government entities, broadcast and cable television operations, advertising and public relations agencies and other business and individuals throughout the country. There were 3242 entries in various categories, from the 48 states, District of Columbia and 9 other countries in the 2002 Communicator Awards Competition. 13% were recognized as Award of Distinction.

Founded in April of 2000, Fire Line Video Productions serves the needs of firefighters by offering its video for incident based fire-rescue training. Fire Line Video Productions also offers its stock footage to fire service instructors for use in multi media training presentations, and to producers for use in a variety of broadcast and non broadcast productions.
