Haloid-Leach is an environmentally safe chemical leach solution for the extraction of precious metals from ores without the need for cyanide. The Haloid-Leach solutions are produced by subjecting salt water to an electrolysis process, creating segregated anode and cathode products into corresponding acids and bases. The acid product contains a blend of haloid acids and oxy-salt complexes," which react with precious metals to form soluble compounds. The application of Haloid-Leach in a precious metal leach recovery circuits is little different than the most common reagent in use. Tank leaching, heap leaching, and in situ leaching scenarios are all viable options at ambient temperatures. The speed that Haloid-Leach recovers precious metals is determined by the acidity of the solution, the salt content, and the ORP level of the leach solutions and the actual metallurgy of the ores.
