R.A.MURPHY LAUNCHES LAFFZINE - THE FIRST ONLINE HUMOR SITE DEVOTED TO ORIGINAL, STORY-BASED HUMOR
The reading public has a new option for fun entertainment online with the launch of R.A.Murphy's LaffZine, an Internet publication devoted to original, story-based humor.
MOUNT DORA, FL (PRWEB) January 16, 2003 - Humorist and comic novelist R.A.Murphy announced today the successful launch of a new online humor publication for general audiences focused on original, story-based comedy called R.A.Murphys LaffZine.
"Im excited to offer the fast-growing audience of online readers a new opportunity to enjoy a type of humor not seen enough on the Internet. said Murphy. "Most Internet humor is limited to collections of one-liners, brief jokes or cartoons. These existing sites promise hundreds, even thousands of jokes, but they're often the same, tired bits that have floated around the web for years."
"The key to our site," said Murphy, "is fresh, original, and truly funny stories."
R.A.Murphys LaffZine web site (http://www.ramurphy.com) maintains what it calls a 'daily-weekly' publication schedule. New short-form material appears daily, Monday through Friday. Each day's new material stays on the site for just one week and then is replaced with fresh material.
Each Saturday, the next episode of a serialized comic story or novel is published. Murphy began experimenting with the serial form in 2002, writing and publishing a complete comic adventure-suspense novel online entitled "Murder in a Small Town Hall." The novel established the new series character, Maddie Madidor, Investigative Reporter. All episodes of the completed novel are available on the new LaffZine site now.
The current serial is a story titled, "Duck Takes a Holiday." It follow the life of Webber, a human character who discovers at age 11 that he is actually supposed to be a duck.
R.A.Murphy's LaffZine distinguishes itself from other online humor sites in several key ways. These include:
-- A focus on publishing original material
-- Story-based humor including complete comic novels presented as serials
-- Frequent updates through the Daily-Weekly publication schedule
-- Free site, with no registration, membership, or subscription requirements
-- Directed toward general audiences
-- Supported by tasteful advertising much like in a premium print magazine.
