Train Holidays is proud to announce a novel one time only 'The Golden Gate to the White House' program for next Fall that combines a rare voyage from San Francisco to Philadelphia aboard one of the highest rated ocean liners afloat with train travel and, nicest of all, three-day visits after the cruise to both historic Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. with special sightseeing, deluxe hotels and much more.

WALNUT CREEK, January 15, 2003--Train Holidays is proud to announce a novel one time only 'The Golden Gate to the White House' program for next Fall that combines a rare voyage from San Francisco to Philadelphia aboard one of the highest rated ocean liners afloat with train travel and, nicest of all, three-day visits after the cruise to both historic Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. with special sightseeing, deluxe hotels and much more. While there are many Panama Canal cruises, no other program offers sightseeing that includes the Liberty Bell and Society Hill in Philadelphia and visits to Arlington, Georgetown and the Smithsonian during our stay in Washington D.C. The most extraordinary aspect of this one-time holiday is the fact that the entire 25-day program starts at only $2,995.pp including the Panama Canal cruise from San Francisco to Philadelphia aboard one of best ships afloat and our five-day visit to Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. including deluxe hotels, train travel, sightseeing and many other special events.

Our holiday begins on September 9th (complimentary for all guests booking by February 7th) at any Southern California Amtrak station with travel aboard the famous 'Coast Starlight' train up the scenic 'Coast Route' to San Francisco, a routing that follows the Pacific Ocean for 113 miles, a nice and leisurely beginning to any vacation. Upon arrival in San Francisco, we transfer guests to the legendary Mark Hopkins Hotel atop Nob Hill for an overnight stay at this grand hotel with all of the following day free to enjoy the many delights of San Francisco. On the evening of September

10th, we board the Prinsendam of Holland America Line and set sail under the Golden Gate Bridge, bound for Philadelphia and the White House. Prinsendam is a jewel among ship, accommodating fewer than 800 lucky guests, in an era when new mega-ships hold many thousands of passengers. Not only is Prinsendam superb, so are the ports of call we will visit, many quite unique and out of the ordinary, including Manzanillo and Santa Cruz Huatulco in Mexico, a rare visit to Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala, the Panama Canal, Costa Rica, the Dutch West Indies and the Bahamas, before our arrival in Philadelphia on September 30th.

In Philadelphia, guests enjoy a two-night stay at one of the most lovely city sights in North America, the elegant Sheraton at Rittenhouse Square along with sightseeing that includes the Liberty Bell, Society Hill, Rittenhouse Square and the old colonial section of city center and a drive by the ss United States, the once famous Transatlantic liner now docked in Philadelphia. After two nights in this historic city, we travel by train to Washington D.C. for a two-night stay at the superb Phoenix Park Hotel on Capitol Hill with sightseeing that includes Arlington National Cemetery, quaint Georgetown and the Smithsonian. There is even a special Farewell Dinner in Washington hosted by Train Holidays. At Washington, guests may extend their stay or take advantage of our special air travel fares home to any major US city. For passengers that would like to see a bit more of the country, we offer a special fare of $199.00 back to any US city on Amtrak, allowing passage aboard such well-known trains as the Capitol Limited, the Southwest Chief and the California Zephyr.

Complete fares for the entire program including the 20-day Holland America Panama Canal cruise from San Francisco to Philadelphia, sightseeing in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., the luxury hotel stays and some meals, starts at $2,995.00 per person based on double occupancy. This tour is fully escorted with special parties and events for our guests, both 'ashore' and aboard. As an added bonus, guests reserving by February 7th qualify for the complimentary travel aboard the Coast Starlight train from any California city to San Francisco the day before sailing with the overnight hotel stay at the Mark Hopkins Hotel! Space on this free travel offer is limited and prompt bookings are encouraged. This is an ideal program for guests that have always wanted to sightsee in the East, especially Washington D.C., at the perfect time of the year, combined with a Panama Canal cruise on one of the most acclaimed ships afloat.
