Grand Opening
Inches-A-Weigh Center
Fairfax, Virginia -- Inches-A-Weigh, a nationwide wellness franchise exclusively for women, will Grand Open a new center in Fairfax Centre on Saturday, January 18, 2003. The center is located at 11213-M Lee Highway, Fairfax, Virginia 22030 near the Chilis Restaurant.
Unlike traditional weight loss programs, Inches-A-Weigh (IAW) emphasizes a family-oriented, low-fat eating plan, as well as an on-site exercise program and personal behavior modification counseling to attain fitness and well-being.
The IAW concept, according to owners Rita and Ralph Burpee, does not endorse diets, high-impact aerobics, quick weight loss or the purchase of pre-packaged foods. We offer a Three Phase Figure Correction program designed especially for the mature woman," they said. Our average client is the 35 -- 75 year-old mom who realizes shes felt out of shape and deconditioned too long".
Phase I provides a nutritionally sound low fat, eating plan that used supermarket foods so that the client learns how to eat properly while losing weight. This eating plan is designed with selections from the Food Guide Pyramid and its guidelines are approved by the American Dietetic Association, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the American Heart Association and the Dairy and Nutrition Council.
The personal, one-on-one nutritional counseling continues in Phase II which also provides on-site, individualized, figure shaping programs that concentrate on low exertion exercises. State of the art equipment that is specially designed to reshape, tone and redevelop the problem areas of the female figure is used in all IAW centers.
Phase III of the program is an open-door maintenance policy utilizing cardiovascular equipment to fine-condition the heart and muscles. This helps to alleviate the yo-yo syndrome of weight loss and gain by offering maintenance exercises and ongoing support while clients maintain weight loss.
Our goal is to provide sound nutritional counseling and exercise through a healthy enjoyable approach," the owners explain. With our well-trained support staff, unique environment, camaraderie, exercise equipment and a proven family eating plan, a new you is only Inches-A-Weigh!"
