Traditional Morals & Family Values Abound In Young Adult Adventure By Debut Nebraska Author

Debut author creates exciting young-adult adventure with appeal to R.L. Stine fans

Fans of R.L. Stine Should Take A Close Look At This Author" Detra Fitch, Huntress Book Reviews.

Nebraska author, Jim Eads, has created an exciting young-adult adventure with his debut novel, Time Slime. Scheduled for release April 1, 2003, Time Slime has all of the elements to keep young readers glued to their seats. While electronic games, action figures, and movies are increasingly coming under fire for their graphic images and excessive violence, Time Slime is exciting, wholesome entertainment.

When school chums Sammy, Ollie and Burgy discover what they think is a jar of greenish preserves in an abandoned root cellar, they never imagined that its contents could thrust them back in time. Reluctantly taking advantage of this newfound ability, Sammy travels back in time to undo his embarrassing mistakes. But changing history has many unforeseen consequences, which ultimately plunge the friends into a terrifying adventure.

Time Slime is a book with which both young adults and parents can identify. Eads has created an exciting adventure tinged with a twist of science fiction that offers the reader an exciting and educational experience. His background as an English teacher infused Eads with the unique aptitude to capture the joys, pains, and struggles of the school years. The storys characters are so genuine, their struggles so real, that they create an immediate affinity with the reader.

Eads story plays out in arenas popular with young readers including several poignant moments on the football field. Even more important, Time Slime offers the opportunity for parents to open a dialogue by discussing what their children might do (or undo) if they could travel back in time.

Time Slime will be released April 1, 2003. Time Slime will be available through Baker & Taylor and wherever books are sold.
