VIDEOTEK INTRODUCES THE SQM-160AV ANALOG VIDEO AND AUDIO DISPLAY MODULE
New Module Enhances System Capabilities of the SQM-Signal Quality Manager System. the SQM-160AV Analog Video and Audio Display Module. The new module further enhances the SQM system capabilities by allowing the user to key all signal and alarm information over the incoming video source for viewing on a composite analog monitor or monitor wall.
Videotek, the industry leader in innovative test and measurement technology, is proud to introduce the SQM-160AV Analog Video and Audio Display Module. The new module further enhances the SQM system capabilities by allowing the user to key all signal and alarm information over the incoming video source for viewing on a composite analog monitor or monitor wall.
The Signal Quality Manager system was designed to be the industry standard system for todays engineers whose requirements for high quality signal monitoring are paramount," says Greg Huttie, Director of Product Development. Created from the ground up, the SQM is truly a dynamic system, easily changing and growing with the needs of the end-user. Adding modules and features like the SQM-160AV allows the user an unsurpassed flexiblity in system design and functionality. The new SQM-160AV addresses another signal monitoring preference we hear from our customers."
The SQM-160AV was designed to provide essential signal data to environments where monitor walls are established as a part of the signal monitoring process. The SQM-160AV was also designed for smaller facilities where the visualization of alarm data, without logging or trending, is the primary requirement for signal monitoring.
The inputs for the SQM-160AV module include 2 independent composite analog video signal inputs (NTSC/PAL) with passive bypass, 8 analog audio inputs, and 2 Tally inputs. Both inputs and outputs are connected through two female BNC connectors, have an impedance of 75 Ohms with a level of 1.0 volt peak to peak and have a return loss of >45 dB. Additionally, the SQM-160AV has two video outputs with corresponding audio pairs, displayed as picture with signal data keyed over the video source or internally generated background colors.
The SQM-160AV has the most features available on the market today," explains Huttie. Freeze alarm zones, black level set point range, peak video alarm, low audio, and audio alarm by pairs are just a few of the features to make the SQM-160AV the industrys best video and audio display technology."
This new module was designed by using the popular SQM-150AV module as the base for the SQM-160AVs signal analysis and alarm conditions processing. However, the SQM-160AV keyes signal information over the incoming video, which includes: timecode, format (NTSC/PAL), program ID (XDS source), program rating (V-chip data), source ID display (PESA standard encoded in VBI or external entry), closed caption (CC1 and CC3) and audio bar graphs. The opacity of this signal information is user adjustable, and each signal parameter can be easily switched on or off for a quick change in viewing preferences.
The SQM-Signal Quality Manager system was conceived as a total multi-format audio/video solution for monitoring and verifying signal quality from local and remote locations. The system is based on a multiple card and frame design that gives the end user complete customization choices to meet current and future needs. The input cards measure and analyze video and audio from multiple sources including composite analog video, serial digital video, analog audio, AES/EBU audio, embedded audio and MPEG formats.
