VIDEOTEK INTRODUCES THE RCU-101
REMOTE CONTROL PANEL FOR THE SDC-101
Expanded Remote Control Capabilities for Videoteks Serial Digital Video Corrector
Videotek, the industry leader in innovative test and measurement technology, is proud to introduce a new remote control option for the SDC-101 Serial Digital Video Corrector. The RCU-101 Remote Control Unit, designed for the SDC-101, provides dedicated connections and control for up to 8 SDC-101s, the most connections available on the market today.
The RCU-101 development team made both price and feature availability two of their primary objectives, " explains Greg Huttie, Director of Product Development. Being able to achieve these objectives and deliver this highly competitive option is exciting, making our end-users the real winners."
The RCU-101 provides the means to control up to 8 SDC-101s through the use of 8 dedicated 9-pin connectors on the rear panel. This remote control unit communicates via individual serial ports that are selectable through front panel controls. Additionally, the front panel will provide LEDs indicating the selected SDC-101 frame. Other intuitive front panel displays and controls provide full feature control from a central location, making serial digital video management straightforward and uncomplicated.
Videoteks unique digital corrector, the SDC-101, inexpensively corrects picture errors and alters video levels in component serial digital video. Ten bit digital processing guarantees optimum signal quality. The SDC-101 accepts a SMPTE 259M-C input and produces an output of the same format. It provides the user with real time control over common video parameters for the purpose of correcting or enhancing video signals. Familiar and understandable analog terms give the user the traditional look and feel of a traditional analog color corrector. Corrections include gain to total video, color gain, hue shift, brightness adjustments, gamma, white clip and soft clip as well as black clip and stretch. The corrections may be applied to total video or selected components (RGB or YCBCR) as appropriate for desired results. The SDC-101 is easily controlled by any combination of editors, GPIs, simple timecode triggers, the optional RCU-102, and now the new RCU-101 Remote Control Unit. Its versatility and ease of operation means cost-effective and timely performance.
