Americans for Fair Taxation Announces Nevada District Director

Gary Wood, School Representative, has been named District Director for Americans for Fair Taxation Congressional Districts NV - CD-1, 2 and 3.

The Las Vegas resident is active in the community and is a public speaker and Internet forum host. Gary Wood has volunteered in numerous community endeavors such as Citizen's for an Alternative Tax System speaker and a 1994 Candidate for Congress in District 1.

Gary Wood will have the task of organizing the activities of a growing group of FairTax volunteers. He became involved with the FairTax plan through his interest in restoring our country to a consumption tax system rather than a production-based system. Gary commented There are many challenges facing our great country and the method we use to fund our government is one of the key, root problems. Since 1913 we have faced a growing threat to our economy, personal security and opportunity to prosper individually."

When asked about his new role, he commented, I am very excited about this opportunity. The federal tax code is a monstrosity that we all have had enough of. Tax evasion is costing us over $195 billion a year and those losses are paid by honest Americans. The average American today is getting the short end of the stick when it comes to taxation and we know it. The FairTax eliminates the current code and replaces it with a plan that gives us hope that with hard work, integrity, and determination, we can all succeed in todays world".
