QUINTUM DEBUTS SMALLER SLOTTED CHASSES FOR TENOR
CMS LINE INCORPORATING H.323 AND SIP INTEROPERABILITY
New 2 Slot Chassis Offers More Flexibility in Smaller Footprint
Quintum Technologies, a worldwide provider of voice-over-IP technologies, announced that it is offering two new configurations of their Tenor Carrier MultiPath Switch (CMS).
The new Tenor CMS240 is a 1U high device that offers CLECs, ISPs, and next generation phone companies a lot of capacity in a very small space. It easily and cost-effectively delivers high quality voice services over IP in smaller POPs. CMS240 supports 8 T1/E1/PRI trunks and provides for 240 simultaneous VoIP calls. Tenor CMS960 is 4U high, supports up to 32 T1/E1/PRI trunks and provides greater capacity for larger POPs, delivering up to 960 simultaneous VoIP calls.
The new Tenor CMS offers intelligent switching between circuits (DS0s) and IP, and between multiple circuits. CMS also incorporates Quintums patented SelectNet feature which assures voice quality by monitoring the QoS of every call and transparently switching calls to the PSTN real time whenever the IP network cannot support a high quality voice call.
Intelligent Call Routing is also featured. It offers unobtrusive installation, requiring little or no re-configuration of existing equipment and intelligently routes calls between the phone/key switch/PBX, PSTN and the IP network, allowing calls to transparently hop on" and hop off" VoIP on to the PSTN.
The CMS capability is enhanced through the availability of an external VoIP call routing server. Tenor CMS, with the new Call Routing Server, will efficiently support large networks with scalable, centralized network routing control and administration. This provides flexibility to offer least cost routing, source based routing, extensive network routing statistics and report generation.
Our new Tenor CMS functionality, in the new smaller chassis, will help our customers efficiently deploy VoIP services in VoIP trunking, calling card, and IP local access applications," stated Charles Rutledge, Marketing VP. Tenor CMS offers assured VoIP quality, with new functionality and a level of reliability that carriers require."
Tenor CMS240 starts at $21,500 and is generally available as of February 1st, 2003. Tenor CMS960 starts at $26,000 and will be available by March 1st.
