Isadora Story goes to Hawaii and Alaska for Fall 2003

For Fall 2003, Isadora Story offers her customers a vicarious trip to Hawaii and Alaska. Cotton sweaters and tees feature her signature whimsical images.

New York, New York -- September 2003

For Fall 2003, Isadora stays in the good old USA, but travels far from home to the 49th and 50th states, Hawaii and Alaska. Starting her travels with a winter safari, she then warms up on sunny shores; her palette is a combination of surfers aquas and fuschias and winter wonderlands whites, browns and greens.

The collection includes signature intarsia or new felt appliqué sweaters of Isadora globetrotting, windsurfing and dog sledding. She highlights the local flora with the hibiscus appliqué and the Alaska scene sweaters, and fauna with the v neck with felt fox (with a real fur tail) and hoodie with palms intarsia sweater. Other silhouettes are chunky aran off the shoulder sweaters and ponchos she created to stay warm in Alaska. Finally, for cold NYC nights, there are cat, dot and soccer-inspired scarves.

Sports continue to influence the collection. The yoga image cotton raglan with matching pants can be worn to class, whereas the skater and skier tees work better by the fire for après ski.

The Isadora Story

Isadora Story is a fictional character who articulates the inspiration for the new collection - as well as discusses the events of her daily life with her three best friends - in diary or letter form seasonally, and on the website eSpotcafe.com, daily. The inimitable style of her eponymous Great Aunt originally prompted Isadora to start designing.

Isadora continues to draws on Aunt Isadora's grandeur, as well as her travels and the energy in her everyday urban environment as her primary design inspirations.

The Designer

Tanya Traykovski is the real designer of Isadora Story. She has fifteen years of experience in the fashion business, including positions in the buying offices of Barneys New York and Joyce Boutique in Hong Kong. Previously, Tanya was a fashion editor at Glamour Magazine.
