China Trade Mission Launches March, 24, 2003 for American Manufacturers of Plastics and Specialty Chemicals
Chicago, IL. - January 20, 2003. Market Research firm Silk Road Communications, L.L.C. announced today it is hosting a Trade Mission to China for American companies that manufacture plastics, specialty chemicals and related-machinery. The China Trade Mission leaves Chicago O'Hare airport for Hong Kong on March 24, 2003.
American companies in the Plastics, Specialty Chemical and Related-Machinery industries can learn first-hand about the China market for their products and processes through this unique tour of China. From March 24, 2003 through April 5, 2003 participants will personally discover the best ways to make the China Market work for their companies by traveling through China to meet and talk with consumers, suppliers, government officials and potential Chinese partners.
Demand for plastic products in China in 2000 exceeded 10 million tons. The Chinese economy is growing almost 3 times faster than America's, driven by a growing middle class of private consumers, huge infrastructure projects and the largest inflow of foreign investment in the world. Degussa, the international specialty-chemicals conglomerate, estimates China will become 2nd in the world behind Europe in the manufacture of specialty chemicals for such applications as plastics, synthetic rubber and thermo-resistant resins.
"The China Plastics and Specialty-Chemicals Tour is an outstanding opportunity for American manufacturers to see with their own eyes China's pace of economic development and to learn how U.S. firms can benefit from China's lower costs of production and an expanding consumer pool," said William Dodson, Managing Director of Silk Road Communications, L.L.C.
The Tour begins in Shenzhen with PlasExpo 2003, one of the largest annual Plastics and Chemicals Exhibitions in China. At PlasExpo 2003 participants can research the Plastics and Chemicals markets, talk with potential customers and meet Chinese companies interested in Joint Ventures. From Shenzhen the Tour flies to Shanghai for a weekend of rest and relaxation. In Hangzhou, participants take part in a Business Roundtable discussion with local business and government leaders to learn how Zhejiang Province can help their companies grow. Participants then travel a couple hours south of Hangzhou to visit Ningbo, Yuyao and Cixi. The Ningbo-Yuyao-Cixi triangle is the center of the Plastics and Chemicals industry in Zhejiang and in China.
Silk Road Communications, L.L.C. is working with Dragon Consulting, Ltd., the Wanxiang Group and Kamhon Travel to host the excursion. Silk Road Communications, L.L.C. (SRC) is a market research consultancy based in Chicago, USA that advises American companies on how best to develop their businesses for the China Market.
