MedCases CME Director to Speak at Alliance for Continuing Medical Education Conference

PHILADELPHIA, January 22, 2003 - Jane Mihelic, executive director, Educational Planning and Continuing Medical Education for MedCases, Inc., will co-chair the Provider Section Meeting (Medical Education Communication Company Alliance [MECCA]) and present a workshop entitled CME on the Internet: Successful Collaboration" at the Alliance for Continuing Medical Educations 28th Annual Conference, to be held at the Hyatt Regency, Dallas, Texas, from January 29 through February 3, 2003

Linking Communities of Practice with the Enhancement of Professional Competence" is the theme of this year's conference. The Alliance is the international professional association for continuing medical education (CME) professionals. Its 2200 members are health care professionals and educators responsible for CME in the United States, Canada, and throughout the world. The Alliances annual conference is designed to advance its mission of providing professional development opportunities for CME professionals, advocating for CME and the profession, and striving to improve health outcomes.

Ms. Mihelic is a nationally recognized expert on continuing medical education, and has more than 20 years of experience in planning and implementing professional education programs. She leads MedCases' educational strategies and manages the company's CME activities. Prior to joining MedCases, Ms. Mihelic was Director of Continuing Medical Education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine for eight years. While there, she was instrumental in the development and implementation of the first online CME course to be offered through the School of Medicine, in 1996. Ms. Mihelic is a member of the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education (ACME), the Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education (SACME), and the Global Alliance for CME.
