Quest for Artificial Intelligence about to Come to an End

Microneme-Geocog is the name of the revolutionary artificial intelligence technology developed by an independent scientist in Switzerland. The new technology, which can be implemented on conventional digital-computing architectures, represents the first ever successful attempt at creating a true artificial intelligence.

In a way strongly resembling human learning, the Microneme-Geocog system acquires new knowledge through perception of, and interaction with its environment, but also through contemplation and generalization of available information. In contrast to existing systems, Microneme-Geocog is capable of developing the high-level cognitive processes required to solve more-complex problems (such as learning to play a game without prior knowledge of its rules or goal, etc.). However, Microneme-Geocog does not try to emulate or reproduce human-learning and thinking. Instead, it applies a model of cognition, designed specifically for use in artificial lifeforms. Nonetheless, early prototypes already have shown many, remarkably human-like, behavioral patterns.

The technology suggested by the Swiss researcher defines a modular and highly scalable system with the flexibility and cognitive-power to be applied in virtually any field of (intelligent-) computing, as well as in many related and (previously) non-related areas. The data collected during testing of early Microneme-Geocog modules hints at the technologyfs enormous potential and a prototype for demonstration purposes is expected to reach completion within the first half of 2003.
