Toledo (OH) ChildrenÕs Hospital NICU to Receive Matching Print

The winning entry was submitted by Jennifer Sandru of Perrysburg, OH. She will receive a signed, matted and framed print of Ferdinand and a $30 WhimsyPrints gift certificate.

ÒIt was a tough decision, but Ferdinand seemed the best fit for the frog character we had created,Ó said Helen Maietta, in reflecting on the selection of the name from all entries received. ÒAnd now that our frog has a name, it provides us creative direction for other fun images to add to our newest series of critter prints.Ó

First prize in the contest included a matching signed and framed print to be given to a charity of the winnerÕs choice. Sandru selected Toledo (OH) ChildrenÕs Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

ÒOur son, Ryan, was born 14 weeks early and spent the first 8 1/2 weeks of his life in the NICU,Ó Sandru said. ÒWeÕre so grateful for all their wonderful medical care and emotional support. WeÕre very lucky that Toledo ChildrenÕs Hospital and their team of experts were there for us. Ferdinand will surely add cheer to the NICU!Ó

WhimsyPrints also awarded one $30 and one $15 gift certificate as second and third prizes in the online contest which went to entrants from Phoenix, AZ, and Amarillo, TX, respectively.
