NEW TRAVEL MAGAZINE FOLLOWS RISE OF INDEPENDENT WOMEN TRAVELERS

Guava, a womens travel site based in west Boston, has spun off a new print publication tailored to hip, smart, and independent female travelers.

Boston, Massachusetts (PRWEB) January 28, 2003 - As the number of women traveling independently has risen, so has the need for an independent woman travelers voice. Guava, a womens travel site based in Boston, has spun off a new print publication tailored to hip, smart, and independent female travelers.

Young women are increasingly saving more money on their own for the specific purpose to travel," says Sabrina Sakata, a Hawaii native, and founding editor of Guava travel magazine for women.

We like girls to think of themselves as creative, thinking citizens of the world, and not just a person locked in the microcosm of American pop culture. They need an outlet for their curiosity about the world that goes beyond American culture." Sakata added.

The premiere issue of Guava includes entertaining reads on the anthropology of facial features, the best thrift shops in New York City, essential tips on refurbishing vintage luggage, making vegetarian Spanish tapas, and a Roadtrip! Column that tells you how to interpret the raspy rattles and unusual blue smoke that comes out of your car.

Regular topics in Guava will include independent travel, women-specific travel issues, unique worldwide destinations (with a twist), roadtrips & car maintenance, do-it-yourself projects (such as restoring luggage and sewing concealed money belts), streetfashion, art, food, music, and other travel topics. The power, intellect, and individuality of the woman traveler will be an integral part of Guavas editorial direction.
