New Site Helps Parents Play An Executive" Role In Their Childs Academic Success

Former School Board President Teams With Educator Wife To Create Online Parent Resource Center. Mike and Cheryl Miceli, owners of 24th Street Publishing, Inc., are pleased to announce the re-launch of ExecutiveParent.com, a site dedicated to parenting for academic success."

Roselle, Illinois -- January 28, 2003 -- Parents know their involvement in their childs education is critical to success. They want to do all they can, but arent always certain how to help or what skills to focus on. ExecutiveParent.com provides an answer to this dilemma.

Online since October 2002, the site features easy-to-use, practical information from experts in education, a monthly learning calendar, tips on maximizing learning opportunities, and an online store featuring quality learning products.

As a former teacher and writing consultant, Cheryl is uniquely qualified to develop the content and product offering for the site. Her teaching experience ranges from infancy through adult, and as a writing consultant she has worked with parents, teachers, and administrators teaching children to write. Cheryl has developed literature discussion groups to encourage a love of reading, and designed workshops for parents to help children reinforce basic skills at home.

Mike is completing his 12th year as a member of the Roselle District 12 School Board. Mike has served the Board as Vice President, and most recently as President of the Board of Education. Through his involvement with the school system, Mike knows first hand the positive impact of having involved parents.

The mission of ExecutiveParent.com is to strengthen the parent-school partnership, and provide parents with the support and resources they need to work with their children at home." says Mike. Cheryl adds, Research continuously proves that parental involvement in education is extremely important to a childs academic success. In addition to our content areas, we help parents by offering learning products that have been used successfully by classroom teachers for years."

Dr. Steven Epperson, Superintendent of District 12 Schools in Roselle agrees. Based upon my years of experience as an educator, I have found parental involvement to be a key factor in student success. Parents who are willing to work with their children at home to reinforce the concepts introduced at school provide valuable support to the educational process."

Site visitors can also subscribe to the free monthly "Learning Opportunities Quotient" newsletter. The newsletter helps parents discover how to find a learning opportunity in everything they do with their child. Features include tips from teachers, book reviews, recommendations on skill-boosting learning products, success stories on maximizing learning opportunities, and more.
