Stacy Mitchhart and Frank Latorre: Blueshift Group Artists Accept The Memphis International Blues Challenge

The Blueshift Group is proud to announce that two artists from its talent roster are appearing in Memphis for the Blues Foundation's Annual International Blues Challenge (IBC). Stacy Mitchhart, based in Nashville TN, and Frank Latorre, hailing from Long Island NY, are representing their respective regional Blues Society to go head-to-head with over 70 other Bands descending upon the prestigious competition in Memphis TN. The IBC is conducted within the numerous live music venues located on historic Beale Street from Thursday, January 30 to Saturday, February 1, 2003.

Stacy Mitchhart and Frank Latorre: Blueshift Group Artists Accept The Memphis International Blues Challenge

Albany, NY - The Blueshift Group is proud to announce that Stacy Mitchhart and Blues-U-Can Use, and Frank Latorre and The King Bees, are both performing at the upcoming International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. Representing the Music City Blues Society and The Long Island Blues Society, respectively, Mitchhart and Latorre are poised to swing into Memphis on January 30th with their distinctive brands of Blues.

Stacy Mitchhart rides his contemporary Soul/Blues mix into Memphis after a year of exciting shows and numerous awards. In January 2002, The Blues Doctor" and his band, Blues-U-Can Use were voted The NY Blues and Jazz Societys 2001 Fan Favorite for the CD What I Feel". September 2002 saw a video of the bands performance at the 2000 W.C. Handy Blues Festival distributed to PBS affiliates across the nation as part of the KET Jubilee Series". In November, The Blues Doctor" and his seven-piece Band, Blues-U-Can-Use, swept the 2002 Music City Blues Society Awards, earning several awards including Entertainer of the Year" and Blues Guitarist of the Year". A featured performer at the Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar in Nashville, Stacy Mitchhart, known for his dynamic stage persona and showmanship, continues to garner new fans of all ages and genders.

A multi-talented artist and musician, Frank Latorre has been on a roll. With his band, The King Bees, Latorre tore through Novembers intensely competitive The Long Island Blues Talent Contest, winning the competition and a chance to represent Long Island at the International Blues Challenge. More blazing sets followed, including an audience-pleasing appearance at The Blueshift Showcase, at the Stanhope House in New Jersey, and a January 19th Band Benefit at Painters on Long Island. Shockingly emotional, utilizing a trio of guitars with Latorres vocals and soulful harmonica, The King Bees bring primal energy and incredible musicianship to the stage. Now they are marching into Memphis to take on all challengers.

The Year of the Blues" (http://yearoftheblues.org) finds Latorre and Mitchhart in the one of the cradles of Blues Music to play their hearts out and entertain crowds.
