Advanced Digital Broadcast, a designer and developer of set-top boxes and their software for the global digital TV market has passed the DVB MHP Test Suite. ADB is now the first company in the world to have fully compliant MHP branded product.
Geneva, January 27, 2003: During the latter days of 2002, ADB¡¦s Research and Development labs situated in Zielona Gora and Katowice, in western Poland worked diligently to finalise another step in the yet unsurpassed success of their DVB-MHP implementation: The passing of the DVB-MHP Test Suite.
This combined with the successful deployment of MHP STBs into the Finnish retail market, has seen ADB become the first company to have fully compliant MHP branded product and is a major milestone in ADB¡¦s pioneering role in MHP.
¡§Passing the MHP Test suite has not been a minor affair. It required both resources and dedication to complete the thousands of tests involved in the MHP certification process, however it was a very nice ¡¥Christmas present¡¦ for the ADB software team,¡¨ stated Krzysztof Kolbuszewski, ADB¡¦s newly appointed Chief Technical Officer (CTO).
ADB first showcased their MHP implementation in Munich in early 2002. This was followed by a successful IBC where ADB¡¦s robust and fast MHP set top boxes graced some 12 different companies¡¦ stands.
This was closely followed by a launch into retail in Finland and a further outing in December 2002 at the European Commission interoperability event in Brussels. ADB¡¦s MHP set top boxes once again out-performed many of its competitors.
Anthony-Smith-Chaigneau, Director of Market Development for ADB stated: ¡§ADB¡¦s MHP Implementation has undergone rigorous testing and debugging through extensive field trialing and real-life deployment. This is unique in the MHP world.¡¨
