BREITLING EMERGENCY WATCH SAVES LIVES

Earlier today two British pilots who crashed in Antarctica, Steve Brooks and Hugh Quentin-Smith, were rescued as a direct result of activating their Breitling Emergency transmitter watch.

The pilots were near to completing their pole-to-pole expedition when they ran into trouble. They were ultimately rescued when a Chilean Otter aircraft found them after homing in on signals from their Breitling Emergency watches.

The Breitling Emergency watch contains a microtransmitter, which is programmed to transmit on the international aviation distress frequency 121.MHz. The two pilots, having drifted away from their crashed helicopter in their life vessel deployed the antenna within the watch to activate the rescue beacon.
