Selling XXXL: Making millions in a Fat Market

Pierre Sabourin knows how to sell XXXL. He once topped the scales at 606 lbs. He lost 200 lbs in Durham, NC, Diet Capital of the World, and along the way to thinness created two new business that cater to the large: www.overweightpeople.com, and a residential diet program called The Living Center.

Venture capitalist, ex-hockey player, and behemoth, Pierre Sabourin was participating in his nightly ritual of video and pizza when he had an ephipany. As the Shawshank Redemption streamed through the TV, the soporific effect of the pizza (double sausage with etra cheese) begain to take effect. The voice of Morgan Freeman boomed through the air "IF you ain't busy living, you're busy dyin." Pierre kew he was dying of --FAT. He tossed the leftover pizza off the balcony and flew to Durham, NC, Diet Capital of the World. There he dropped two hundred lbs on the Rice Diet, and started two companies: www.overweightpeople.com; an on-line and physical store that caters to the large and sells everything: portable scales that weigh up to 500 lbs, seatbelt extenders, personal hygiene products, and even cruises for the jumbo class.

The Living Center is a residential weight loss program dedicated to the belief that life is for living.

"Don't wait until you are thin to date hot girls, do it now." Pierre is also writing a book with the author of Fat Like Us, Jean Renfro Anspaugh, titled XL Sex. The publish date is May 2003.
