BOX FOUND IN ATTIC LEADS TO MYSTERY

Richmond, VA -- When our parents or relatives die we often wonder how to dispose of their possessions. This is what author D.A. Roelofs character, Lonnie Rolkart in his new novel Two Roads From Yesterday" is trying to painfully accomplish when he stumbles upon a family secret -- a box in the attic that contained papers concerning family members he knew nothing about.

This novel is a sequel to D.A. Roelofs first novel A Long Tall Road" which relates the story of a boy who grows up in Minnesota and has many escapades across the Midwest from the Dakotas to Montana, and then finds himself on a plane to the Korean War.

Two Roads from Yesterday depicts Lonnies efforts to make the transition from the military to civilian life. There are humorous (such as when the macho Lonnie has to take a dance class to graduate and painful times (the loss of his adopted son) as he tries to establish a career, marry and find out about his past -- a past that is filled with savagery and brutality.

As the story of Lonnies ancestry is revealed, a woman whom Lonnie loved and lost before the Korean War returns and this leads to a stunning revelation from his past that tragically impacts Lonnie and his family.

Mr. Roelofs is a native of Minnesota and grew up and lived in Prinsburg and Clara City. He was a teacher for three years at Clara City High School, and he taught for thirty years at Roseville High School. He also taught inmates at Stillwater State Prison. He is a graduate of St. Cloud University, University of South Dakota and took additional graduate studies at the University of Minnesota. Currently, Mr. Roelofs is an adjunct professor at Bryant & Stratton College in Richmond, Virginia.

In addition to his two novels, D.A. Roelofs is the author of two books of poetry -- Images from the Road" and his 2003 publication Shadows from the Road".
