newsnext.com (http://www.newsnext.com) is a free forward planning tool designed to allow UK journalists to spot future feature possibilities and news leads. While journalists visit the site looking for tip-offs and story ideas, newsbreakers such as PR companies and press officers post their news and information to a wide range of categories. Journalists can then quickly find relevant leads, whether it be a press conference, product debut, major landmark anniversary or an off-diary oddity.
We concentrate on UK events and stories, although international writers and publicity departments are free to search and post to the calendar, providing there is a UK angle" explained newsnext.com owner/operator Tracey Hopkin.
As with newsnext.coms sister website -- prposts.com, a free jobs board for the UKs PR industry -- there is no intention to charge for these services. What we would really like to see is a community of UK-based PR professionals make full use of both websites."
