Insight Sciences, Inc. Introduces ISL Series Biomedical Development Workstations

Insight Sciences introduces PowerPC ATX form factor Linux computers based on Motorola's G4 chipset, targeted to the Bioscienses Industry.

TRAVERSE CITY, MI (PRWEB) February 1, 2003 - Insight Sciences introduces a new line of lower cost high end PowerPC ATX Linux computers designed for biomedical software development. Based on Motorolas G4 CPU and the TeronPX motherboard from Mai Logic, the ISL series systems have Terra Soft Solution's Yellow Dog Linux pre-installed, along with development tools and applications for Image Manipulation, DICOM data management, Database/Informatics, Statistic and Numeric Analysis and much more.

We are dedicated to developing an underlying technology infrastructure which will allow bioscience and biotechnology companies to focus on what they do best," says Declan Cooper, President of Insight Sciences. The PowerPC ATX form factor affords us the opportunity to develop these workstations at a lower cost than if we used proprietary hardware," continues Mr. Cooper.

The Company seeks to provide these organizations with a solid platform that is tailored to research and development initiatives at a competitive price for ATX based workstations. The ISL series is customizable, including introductory clusters contained within the same tower for experimentation with parallelization of code. The G4 chip also allows researchers to evaluate the Altivec or single instruction multiple data (SIMD) capabilities at the algorithmic and source code level for even greater processing gain.

Insight Sciences works with Terra Soft Solutions, Inc. as a Value Added Reseller (VAR) and Integrator for developing the workstations. The Company is looking to ship the customized workstations within the second quarter of this year. We are currently focused on generating interest in the products, so we can determine how best to ramp up operations, including the ability for customers to design a system, both hardware and software, from our web site," states Mr. Cooper. Further product information is available at the Company web site, www.insightsciences.com, or by calling 231.932.8698.
