Two Gals From New York Shatter Glass Ceiling
Andrea Aron and Sandy Beladino open new post production finishing boutique, Vendetta Post.
Newly opened Vendetta Post is an intimate little finishing boutique nestled within the warm bosom of Margarita Mix de Santa Monica (MMSM). Owned and operated by two women, Andrea Aron and Sandy Beladino, Vendetta Post offers commercial online and compositing services. Principal talent includes artist/editors James Bygrave and Pete Mayor, with assistant Shauna Prescott.
Andrea and Sandy worked together for over 7 years building a Santa Monica start up company that had a very successful history finishing commercials. Hiring Andrea as an Operations Manager was the best move I ever made" said Sandy. She and I just immediately clicked; we understand the value of a client, industry protocols, and process of commercial postproduction". Sandy, one of the founding partners of The Finish Line, parted the company December 2001, It was time for me to do something on my own". Sandy and I balance one another very well," said Andrea, there wasnt much discussion about starting a company, we knew we could do it, and do it right."
Although a separate company operating from subleased space within MMSM, Vendetta Post shares reception, client services, and machine room resources with MMSM. Sandy Beladino notes, We realized that the old traditional facility model is obsolete. It is impossible in todays market to run a healthy facility with excessive overhead."
MMSM was one of 3 companies who courted Andrea and Sandy. We chose MMSM because of their superior reputation as an audio postproduction house" says Andrea. Their level of talent and customer service is highly recognized within the industry and the environment is lively, colorful and fun. She confirms, We knew this was the place the moment we walked in."
The focus of the company is to provide top shelf talent and service to finish commercials. James Bygrave is easily acknowledged as one of the top Henry talents in the US. Pete Mayor is well respected for his ability to use both Henry and Flame fluently, and has established a loyal following that includes some of todays esteemed directors. Both James and Pete have been instrumental in the selection of workstations, bay design and overall philosophy of the company. They unanimously sought Shauna Prescott as their assistant. Pete explains, Her patience, ability to work closely with artists and clients, and extensive graphics experience make her an invaluable part of the team." Shauna supports the sessions from within each bay, interacting directly with artist and client.
No more than a few months old, Vendetta Post has already been involved in finishing a number of commercial campaigns, including spots for Apple Computers, Michelob, Levis Dockers, Merrill Lynch and Dial Soap.. Andrea notes We have been extremely fortunate to enjoy such an demonstration of industry support so early on. Its refreshing in this day and age that client loyalty can be reaffirmed in this industry."
Vendetta houses 2 bays, each with a dedicated Quantel Henry workstation and Macintosh graphics workstation. Discreet Logic Flame is available to augment either bay. James notes, We designed the rooms to accommodate multiple workstations allowing the artists and clients to work collaborately without jumping in and out of several rooms."
Vendetta Post is located at 1661 Lincoln Blvd., Suite 101, Santa Monica, California 90404.
