SYMMETRICOM TRUSTED TIME DIVISION ANNOUNCES FREE MULTI-TIME ZONE DESKTOP APPLICATION

Lexington, MA -- January 29, 2003 - Symmetricom - Trusted Time Division (TTD), a division of Symmetricom (Nasdaq: SYMM), the leading provider of secure time management solutions that manage the integrity of time in digital business processes, today announced the release of SymmTime 2003, a convenient multi-zone desktop time utility that automatically synchronizes a users computer system clock to any NTP (Network Time Protocol) server accessible from the users computer.

SymmTime is designed to keep a computers time and time zone information accurate," said John Bernardi, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Symmetricoms Trusted Time Division. If you are setting up an international conference call that crosses time zones and datelines, doing business with people on three different continents or on the road and trying to remember what time zone you're in, having SymmTime can help you in these and other situations where knowing accurate time is beneficial."

SymmTime offers the user a number of official time sources from which to download Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) - the international standard for time. UTC is governed through a diplomatic treaty adopted by the world community that designates National Measurement Institutes (NMIs) as UTC time sources. Two examples are the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the United States, and the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in England. There are about 50 similar metrology centers that are responsible for official time throughout the world. SymmTime offers users the ability to synchronize their computers time to an official time source as frequently as they want, thus assuring that their systems time is checked for accuracy. If a computers time becomes inaccurate (which occurs often with computer clocks), SymmTime can help make the correction. When SymmTime synchronizes to its official time source it announces that there needs to be an adjustment to the computers time. The user needs only to agree to the adjustment, and their time will automatically be corrected.

Availability and Pricing
SymmTime is free and can be used in any Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT) Windows PC environment. It is available for immediate download at http://www.trusted-time.com/symmtime. Once SymmTime is up and running, the user can set as many or as few time zone clocks on a computer as desired.
