Romance novelist and freelance writer Lori Soard believes in giving something back to the world.

Romance novelist and freelance writer Lori Soard believes in giving something back to the world. In December, she created a new series called Destiny Hamlet. Lori plans to write about twenty to thirty short romances and gift them to readers.

"Destiny Hamlet has a definite Twin Peaks flavor about it. You just know something magical will happen in the town and Lori has a knack for making me love her characters," said a reader and long-time fan of Soard's work, Liz Miller.

The first story in the series, A CHRISTMAS HOAX, was offered just before Christmas 2002. She's had well over 100,000 visitors once the free story was announced.

"I am a big believer in giving back to the world. I've been blessed in my life: I have a wonderful family, I live in a free country, and I have two beautiful daughters and a husband who loves me. I want to share the beauty of my world with readers and the best way I can do that is to write."

While romances have often gotten a bad rap in the literary world, Soard is proof that intelligent women are behind some of the world's best love stories. She has a Ph.D. in Journalism and Creative Writing and works as a correspondent for several newspapers and magazines.

"When I write a romance, I'm not out to win the Pullitzer. I just want to write a story that will leave the reader smiling." Soard has written several books, including her latest release, a romantic comedy from Thorndike--HOUSEBREAKING A HUSBAND.
