Women's Pro Football Holds Open Try-outs in Florida

Miami, FL -- The Florida Stingrays Womens Tackle Football team have announced an Open Try-out for the upcoming Womens Professional Football League season. The try-outs will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2003, at former Miami Dolphin training facility, St. Thomas University in Miami, FL. (16400 NW 32nd Ave. Miami, Florida).

Miami, FL -- The Florida Stingrays Womens Tackle Football team have announced an Open Try-out for the upcoming Womens Professional Football League season. The try-outs will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2003, at former Miami Dolphin training facility, St. Thomas University in Miami, FL. (16400 NW 32nd Ave. Miami, Florida).

Registration will begin at 9.00 am; tryout at 10.00 am. John Bartolo (Head Coach) and his staff will conduct the try-out. We are expecting a large number of participants, so it is highly recommended that you pre-register by calling the Stingrays administration staff at 954-444-5783 before Friday February 20, 2003 as spaces are limited. You may also pre-register on-line at www.FloridaStingrays.com. A pre-registration fee of $70.00 will be charged and must be paid in CASH during registration. A fee of $75.00 will be charged for all walk-ups. Proper photo ID such as a valid drivers license will be needed.

All participants will be required to sign a waiver and fill out a registration form before beginning any part of the workout. These forms will be available at the registration desk. You must be 18 years and older by April 1, 2003.

Participants should be prepared to complete any drills that are done at a professional football combine or tryout including but not limited to: Short Shuttle, 40-Yard Dash, Vertical Leap, One-on-One Drills, etc. The tryout will be held outdoors. Please bring appropriate clothing, cleats and sneakers.

About the Florida Stingrays
The Florida Stingrays is Floridas premier womens professional football team. Playing a 10 game regular season beginning August 2, 2003, the Stingrays hope to be the driving force behind womens sports in Florida. Co-Owned by football entrepreneurs Angela Belden and Lizz Bartolo of the Florida Titans, The Florida Stingrays will draw upon the interest of women from all walks of life. The team plans to actively recruit the best soccer, Lacrosse, rugby, track and field athletes to compete in this, their inaugural season. We feel it will grow every bit as exciting as the male competition", states Belden.
