Our cooperative of language teachers and translators, SLPb2b, is pleased to offer summer Spanish courses for overseas travellers to Spain. The courses combine language learning with cultural and social events here on the Costa Daurada.

SLP-b2b, a cooperative of language teachers and translators based in Tarragona, Spain, is offering two different Spanish language and culture courses this summer. Each five-day course consists of 20 hours of classes complemented by authentic practice situations outside of class during excursions to explore the beautiful Costa Daurada.

The Priorat wine region is widely recognized as one of the best in the world. With its beautiful mountains and deep, green, hidden valleys, it is also one of the best kept secrets in Spain. Our “Español entre Viñedas” (Spanish among the Vineyards) course will allow participants to discover this fantastic region while improving their level of Spanish in small groups. Participants will stay and attend classes in a marvellously restored “Casa de Paiges” (country house) in the tiny village of Porrera in the magnificent Montsant mountain range where they will dine on local specialties created by the proprietor. They will also have a chance to discover some charming local restaurants. Half of each day will be spent participating in Spanish classes taught by qualified, professional instructors while the second half will be dedicated to wine tasting, winery tours, visiting local historic landmarks and ruins, and nature walks. The pre-intermediate course will take place from July 7 –11, 2003 and the intermediate course from September 22 – 26. This course will have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 participants. The price is €1, 650 per person.

The “Español junto al Mar” (Spanish by the Sea) course will take place in the small coastal city of Tarragona, about 90 kilometers south of Barcelona.

Participants will stay and attend classes in a small, 3 star hotel within walking distance of idyllic Mediterranean beaches. Tarragona is an ancient city with more Roman ruins than any other city in Spain (the city was granted World Heritage Site status in 2001). Excursions on this course will include exploring these fascinating monuments, dining on tapas in charming Spanish plazas, the opportunity to try various water sports, and, of course, just plain relaxing at the beach. The pre-intermediate course will take place from July 21 - 25, 2003, and the intermediate course from September 15 - 19, 2003. This course will have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 participants. The price per person is €1, 450.

Prices include ground transportation, double-occupancy accommodation, breakfast and lunch (which is the main meal of the day in Spain), sightseeing, guide services and language instruction. Round-trip airfare to Spain, travel and health insurance are not included. The deadline to register for either course is April 30, 2003.
