February 5, 2003, Wilmington, DEÂ?The Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, Inc. (MAGDRL) is holding its second annual Delaware Dog Fest and Parade of Paws on Saturday, April 12th from 10a.m. to 2p.m. at Banning Park in Wilmington, DE in an effort to raise money to support our orphan Danes.

“This event is fun for every member of the family,” said Sheila Marshall, Eastern PA Coordinator “This is just one of the many community events we do to raise money so we can find find loving homes for our big-hearted Danes and educate the public about this remarkable breed.”

The Delaware Dog Fest is full of interesting events, including Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog Testing, Agility & Obedience demos, K9 Search & Rescue demos, and a Microchipping clinic. Other rescue groups and a variety of vendors will also be participating. The Y-100 Street Squad will provide music and there will be plenty of contests with exciting prize packages.

Anyone can participate in the Parade of Paws as long as the participating dogs are friendly and leashed at all times. If people pre-register, they will receive a “goodie” bag and a t-shirt. The cost to register is $20 and the person who collects the most in pledges will receive a grand prize.
