VoIP over Wireless Solution Now Available from Celtic Communications

Recent Successful Implementations Underline Business Value of Innovative Convergent Technology

Pompano Beach, Florida February 7, 2003: Celtic Communications announced today the availability of its Voice over IP over Wireless solution - a fully converged data and voice network ideal for wireless LAN sites. The new solution allows organizations to retain all of the highly evolved voice and data integration capabilities of VoIP environments at physically distributed campus environments.

Recent successful implementations, such as the one completed for Celtic Communications client MTI Medi-Trans Inc., demonstrate the maturity and reliability of the technology. MTI Medi-Trans is a non-emergency provider of quality transportation services for worker's compensation clients throughout the country. When the company relocated its call center operation to a new 13,000 ft. facility in Pompano Beach, Florida, it needed a cost effective solution that would allow the seamless extension of its LAN as well as the retention of all telephony features and functionalities to which the administration staff were accustomed.

Celtic Communications delivered a solution harnessing Cisco Aironet wireless networking technology in tandem with Comdial's robust IP convergent platform, the FX II. Wireless antennas strategically positioned at each building enabled the establishment of a secure, high-speed, point-to-point data link. This low latency IP transport mechanism allowed the expansion of the network to remote locations of the site.

According to Michael Crory, President of Celtic Communications, "The powerful combination of wireless connectivity and IP networking is enabling our clients to enjoy the benefits of a low latency, secure, common voice and data transport mechanism without the restraints of conventional cabling and infrastructure."

Details about the MTI Medi-Trans VoIP over wireless implementation are documented in a Celtic Communications case study, which is available from the company's corporate web site, located at http://www.CelticCommunications.com.
