National Speakers at RC&D Leadership Forum
The National Association of Resource Conservation and Development Councils Leadership Forum drew powerful speakers from across the country to address the over 200 Leaders from RC&D Councils who attended the 4th annual NARC&DC Leadership Forum in Washington, DC, February 3-4.

National Speakers at RC&D Leadership Forum
The National Association of Resource Conservation and Development Councils Leadership Forum drew powerful speakers from across the country to address the over 200 Leaders from RC&D Councils who attended the 4th annual NARC&DC Leadership Forum in Washington, DC, February 3-4.
Speakers who addressed current issues in Rural America included: Thomas Dorr, Undersecretary for Rural Development; Mark Rey; Undersecretary for Natural Resources and Environment and Bruce Knight, Chief, Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Congressman Charlie Stenholm, (D/TX), Ranking Member of the House Agriculture Committee, addressed the assembled leadership at the first Awards Luncheon to be held in Washington, DC.
A highlight of the Forum was the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the United States Forest Service.
Other highlights of the forum included the panel discussion by USDA Agency Directors and Administrators; Informational, Leadership and Legislative Education from across the country featuring State Congressmen, local government leaders and successful lobbyists; Bioenergy
Opportunities by USDA Special Assistant Merlin Bartz; and Increasing Outreach by Members of the Outreach Task Force.
RC&D Council members from 46 states and US territories were in attendance. NARC&DC President Joe Cantu expressed pleasure and pride as the RC&D leadership prepared to meet the current needs of their communities.
Resource Conservation and Development Councils are volunteers who serve their communities in all 50 states and US territories. RC&D Councils identify, address and solve the challenges needed to sustain and improve the quality of life in their own communities. http://www.rcdnet.org
