Superhero Honored With Merchandising Achievement Award

With a sluggish economy, The Gingerbread House has found a way to overcome and increase sales!

The Gingerbread House (Wolcott, NY) has been honored with a "Playthings Merchandising Achievement Award," one of the oldest and most prestigious tributes in the toy retailing industry.

The Gingerbread House will be recognized with the "Best Original Promotion Award" (for stores under $1 million in sales)at a special reception at the Plaza Hotel in New York City during International Toy Fair next week.

The Gingerbread House has met the challenge of making itself a "destination", the goal of every retailer", noted Maria Weiskott, editor in chief of Playthings Magazine. "And this is no easy task given the current soft retail environment", Weiskott added.

She noted that Puzzleman - Defender of Creativity involved the type of creativity and merchandising ingenuity called to meet the challenge of today's marketplace.

This is the 33rd year Playthings magazine, published by Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier, is honoring toy retailers with awards for merchandising achievement.
