FORMER POLYCOM VICE PRESIDENT JOINS APPLIED GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES
JD Vaughn brings more than 30 years of telecommunications experience to AGT
Rockledge, FL -- February 12, 2003 - Applied Global Technologies, a worldwide provider of reliable and worry-free video communications, has named JD Vaughn as its Chief Sales Officer. Vaughn joins the AGT team following assignments with Polycom and Accord Networks which began in December 1998. Most recently serving as VP of Sales for Polycoms Network Systems Division, the California native was also responsible for all Polycom sales in North America.
"Having known JD for several years, I know his professional integrity and commitment are consistent with the AGT culture," stated Mike Valletutti, Chairman and CEO. Vaughns 30 years of work in telecommunications has included specific focus in the video conferencing industry during the past 14 years. The 54 year-old executive has a solid background in business operations, sales, engineering, and customer support.

Vaughn joined Polycom following the sale of Accord Networks in 2001 where he served as VP of Worldwide Sales from 1998-2001. During that period, Accord Networks grew from $9 million in annual revenue to $65 million per year. Polycom purchased Accord for $350 million in 2001.
Prior to Accord, Vaughn was VP of Sales for Viewcast.com and has worked in sales roles with Videoserver and PictureTel. AGTs new CSO began his career with Pacific Bell.
Vaughn now lives just outside of Atlanta and will work from the Applied Global office in northern Atlanta.
