ALFA & ARISS INTRODUCES SECUREW2 CLIENT FOR SECURING WIRELESS LAN

Alfa & Ariss introduces the latest in wireless and wired security products: the SecureW2 Client. The SecureW2 Client enables EAP-TTLS using the standard Microsoft IEEE 802.1X Client currently available for Windows 2000 and XP. Using the SecureW2 gives users the means of connecting to 802.1X enabled networks in a secure and convenient way.

The IEEE 802.1X protocol (Port based Network Access Control) is quickly becoming the new standard for authentication in wired and wireless networks. For example in wireless networks, 802.1X allows one to use dynamic, session based, WEP keys instead of the old static WEP keys. Techniques such as WEP key rotation allow system administrators to change the WEP key, unnoticed by the user, every 30, 10 even 5 minutes.

"With the SecureW2 Client we make sure that organizations and their users can find a perfect balance between the freedom of wireless movement and strong security", says Arnout Hannink, managing partner of Alfa & Ariss.

Other advantages the SecureW2 Client offers are among other things, the user based authentication, allowing administrators to use standard accounting techniques.
